Sweet Ness OBX

I ordered a custom cake during the off-season for a retirement party and could not be happier! The cake was incredibly soft and moist, and the frosting was so light and fluffy. Sweet Ness bakery also created a beautiful, elegant design matching exactly what I requested. Communication and pricing were excellent. Would definitely recommend this shop!

This bakery smells like Sugar-Luxury. I'm not sure how else to describe it. The glass visuals are sensational, but the tastes....oh the tastes.... The peach Sponge cake...oh my goodness 🤤🤤🤤. Very inexpensive, especially for the quality of the products and service . And the owner will be a bright spot to your day.

Delicious decadent desserts and artisanal offerings. This bakery offers a selection of fresh options in a bakery case that rotate, and I’ve saved the spot to return again when back to the obx. Definitely a place to pre-order custom cakes or if you’re lucky there will be one in the case. The blueberry lemon layer cake and peanut butter pie were phenomenal! Also offer key lime pie, cheesecake, classic Victorian sponge strawberry, and the baker’s adorable children are there helping from time to time as well!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Sweet Ness Bakery! They came through for me at the very last minute and created a beautiful chocolate cake for my 30th wedding anniversary. The cake was rich, moist, and absolutely delicious—hands down one of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever tasted. They were very accommodating during the busy Thanksgiving week. Vanessa and her bakery are a wonderful find in Duck and the OBX and we are so glad to know she is there! I needed a cake for a birthday celebration, found Sweet Ness and learned she takes special orders during the off season when her storefront is closed. She is an extraordinarily talented baker who created a beautiful, absolutely delicious cake that we savored for a week and the last bite was as delicious as the first. She also is accessible and a delight to work with. Thank you for making the birthday and our stay in Duck this autumn especially memorable!
