Sweet Agave Bar & Grill 🇲🇽

We had a great Saturday night dinner. I LOVED the birra tacos- it was one of their offered specials. The guacamole and chips were also very good as was my mojito. I’ve not been here before- my daughter has. It’s a great neighborhood restaurant. Great service. It was a little loud, but manageable. Will certainly be back.

The food was amazing and well cooked! The chimichanga was cooked to perfection. The kids meal chicken tenders are good and my son enjoyed the french fries. Would absolutely reccomend this restaurant.

Our party of four had a nice Sunday-night dinner preceded by a big bowl of tasty guacamole, chips, and salsa. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas. Our tablemates are frequent patrons of Sweet Agave, recognized by the wait staff. All four of us enjoyed our meals. I would have preferred a slight bit of additional cooking on my chili relleno, but my pork enchilada was perfect. I found the margarita lacking a bit in flavor, in need of a bit more lime and triple sec, I believe. I would definitely return to Sweet Agave when in the neighborhood and try sampling some other items on the menu.

Oh boy! This tex-Mex spot is a winner! Always great food, always generous portions, always friendly and attentive staff. Admittedly we take out more than we eat in, and that’s a great experience too. But it’s all about the food, right? My “bellweather” item for any Mexican place is the Chili Relleno. First, do they make them at all? Many don’t. Second, do they know what a real Relleno should be like? OMG, so many disappointing places just ruin the poor Chili… soggy, no good filling, old Chilis… even had some baked with no batter! Wha? But you name it, I have had some awful Rellenos. Not here. These are always fabulous, authentic, with a near perfect batter, fried up just right. Sweet Agave is one of the best kept secrets in Washington DC. It delivers on all levels and it has very tasty Mexican food. The people are wonderful. The service is super. You don't find this very easily, especially in Washington so, highly recommended as much as I hate to see the place crowded I like it exactly how it is !right now, but they really deserve it.
