Swamp House Riverfront Grill

This place is great! Visiting in December is essentially slow season but we're local, so it's better for us at least - you still get great attentive service and the food was so fresh and fantastic in flavor. They have a great Christmas tree in the middle of the dining floor right now , I wish I took a picture of it. Other things hanging on the wall were very interesting, really puts you in the vibe of the area. We'll definitely be coming back during our next break.

Nestled along the scenic St. Johns riverfront, Swamp House Riverfront Grill offers a blend of Southern hospitality and traditional flavors, the rustic yet inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. I had the Fried Grouper Sandwich, the generous portion of fish was fried to golden perfection, crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, I topped it with my coleslaw adding a nice balance of creaminess and crunch. My husband had the Fish and Chips, he said the french fries were top 5! Would have been great for the real estate agent I was meeting to be served on "this" part of the deck as opposed to "that" part. She was pleasant, but lost it in what would have been a pretty good tip. Management might want to revisit this policy when it's not busy. Great property.

Great location overlooking the St John’s River. However, the view is obstructed by the plastic screen that needs to be pressure washed. Not a bad spot if you’re boating and need a burger. Waitstaff was pleasant. Local vibe.

Service was excellent. I would recommend the pretzel. Best pretzel I've ever had and I just moved here from Germany. Crabcakes were good, but nothing to write home about. One of our loaded potato skins wasn't cooked through and the BBQ sauce was a tad sweet (think Sunny's), imo. Good beer selection and the key lime Martini is to be recommended. Great place to have dinner and a few with your friends.
