Swagat Indian Cuisine

My husband and I eat here every few months and it has not disappointed me yet. The service is quick and friendly, and the food is amazing. I love the butter chicken…at this point I don’t really look at the menu because I already know why I’m there haha. Give them a try :)

I visited Swagat Indian Cuisine in Richmond/Chesterfield after camping at Pocahontas State Park, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had since moving to the U.S. The biryani lacked flavor and freshness. The paneer did not taste right and seemed off in texture and smell. The yogurt served alongside had an unusual consistency, almost like melted cheese, which made it very difficult to eat. Overall, the quality of the food did not meet basic expectations for Indian cuisine. After a long day outdoors, we were really looking forward to a comforting meal, but this experience was extremely disappointing. I hope the restaurant improves its food quality and freshness standards.

First impression... clean and hygienic. Foods will overwhelm your pallets with flavor, taste is robust. Price is very reasonable for the portion you are getting.

We stopped in to Swagat Indian Cuisine for lunch on a Saturday and lucked out big time: they had a buffet. Even better, everything we were about to order was already on it, so we went for the buffet instead… and it ended up being $14.95, which was actually less expensive than the meals we were planning to get. The food was AMAZING. So good that I forgot to take a picture. But what really sealed it for us was the service. The gentlemen working were genuinely friendly and went above and beyond, taking time to explain the different sauces (the brown tamarind sauce with the mint chutney was out of this world), what mixes well together, and what ingredients were in each one. Total top-tier hospitality. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a nicer host. We cannot wait to come back next time we
