SUYA HOUSE AFRICAN GRILL

I’ve eaten here twice once for takeout and once we dined in. Overall the food is good. During my visits I ordered Tilapia Suya twice, Chicken Shawarma twice, jollof rice, and peanut butter soup. I highly recommend the Chicken Shawarma. The Tilapia was a good option but my only recommendation is for it to be cooked less crispy because it was fried a bit too hard and was tough to chew. I enjoyed the sauce that was served on the side. I would recommend you try this place for yourself it’s worth it. The staff is very friendly. Items are made to order so be patient.

We recently visited Suya House in Newcastle, drawn by its strong Google reviews and our own curiosity to explore African cuisine. Since we’re not very familiar with the food, we asked our server for recommendations. She suggested the lamb curry with fufu and assured us the fried fish was much better than what’s shown online. She also mentioned that the restaurant is under new ownership—still operating as Suya House—but with improved quality compared to the previous management. We ordered the fried fish, lamb curry with fufu, and a hibiscus drink. The drink was absolutely delightful—refreshing and full of flavor. Tried something different today. African Grill. Food was good! Small cozy place inside. Outdoor seating available. No alcohol at this time. Had Garlic Buffalo wings. Good. Goat with Rice. Also good. Goat done a little more than we’re used too, but was good. A lot of pieces throughout. Our waitress was polite and attentive.

I drive all the way from Dover, DE for this deliciousness. The FuFu, the Wings, the Rasta Pasta, I could go on and on. Food so good, it never made it in the picture 😂🤌🏽 The music makes you feel like your in your house cookin, Jammin and eating 🥰 Called my family and got 2 to go orders.

While driving through Delaware, I made a stop at Suya House Africa Grill to recharge with some authentic West African cuisine. I went with the Jollof rice and fish, paired with an ice-cold Zobo drink infused with ginger - the perfect combo. 😋 The meal was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend Suya House Africa Grill to anyone craving the bold, rich flavors of West Africa. Their menu features popular dishes from countries like Ghana, Nigeria, and Cameroon, offering a true taste of the region. And yes, I have to say it: Ghana Jollof still reigns supreme 🥇. No other Jollof rice, not even Nigeria’s, comes close in flavor and deliciousness.🤩 Prices are very affordable, and I definitely got my money’s worth.👍A must-visit spot if you're in the area!
