Although the decor is simple, the sushi and service are outstanding. Unfortunately the seaweed salad was inedible for me… and at just fifty cents less than the basic sushi rolls themselves, I had expected more. Considering that was 1/3 of my meal, I can’t give the same 5 stars as others.

Easily the best sushi in the neighborhood and some of the freshest fish I’ve had in NYC. The hospitality is exceptional - Peter personally introduced himself, walked us through each piece of sushi, and made the experience feel truly special with his attention to detail. So excited to have this spot nearby and can’t wait to go back!

Stumbled across this place on only their 2nd day of service! For now it's takeout only, but Chef said that they plan on doing Omakase service soon. I got the sushi/sashimi set for 2, and in short - you are not going to find better quality sushi in the area than this, period. Maybe I got lucky since the place is so new, all the fish is still super fresh. Every piece was cut and shaped with precision. Didn't get much time to speak with Chef, but his work speaks for itself. Clearly a talented and experienced guy. Looking forward to trying that omakase!

Kaze really puts into perspective what good sushi should taste like. Each ingredient is intentional from the freshly sourced fish, hand-ground wasabi, the omakase-level soy sauce, and premium grade rice. Peter’s hospitality makes the experience that much better.
