Su’s Coney Island

I was at the mall to check out the froyo spot across the way and stumbled upon this spot. I'm a huge fan of Coney Islands, especially if they're close in style to the Detroit and Flint varieties. Super thick meat sauce, mustard, fresh chopped onions atop a griddled dog in a soft bun. Classic.

A humble, unassuming spot right in the mall! Such sweet, kind owners!!! They’ll fix up your food just how you like it! The HOT DAWGS. My GOODNESS. I had a Coney Dog, and I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t sure initially how good it was gonna be once I had it in front of me! Just like the place itself, the hot dog looked pretty humble. But my GOD, I don’t know WHAT was in that sauce, but I IMMEDIATELY ordered another Coney as soon as I inhaled my first one. Honestly, I wished I hadn’t eaten all day because of how many I WISH I could’ve eaten (they did have a buy 5 get one free deal…)! They do sell their Coney Sauce by the pint, and if I wasn’t leaving Duluth tomorrow, I would have purchased TWO. Please do NOT overlook Su’s Coney Island, man. 10/10.
