SureStay by Best Western Higginsville

Good value, clean, friendly. Appreciated the recent remodels which made for a fresh, welcoming look. Liked the one-floor availability. Comfortable bed, quality towels, nice to have desk & 2 chairs, 3 quality table lights. Warm breakfast was pleasant & well above "continental" choices at many other low-priced offerings. We liked this hotel so much that we booked it again for our trip home. However, 2 details on the return stay: 1] We did not appreciate the guest who took 4 parking places in our assigned area (see pictures). Owners, be aware of things like this. 2] Price on my confirmation did not match the slightly higher price charged to my card.

- Price on Google maps was not accurate. It was a bait and switch. Listed for like $70 a night. Turned out to be $80. - TV didnt work in room. - Got woken up by house cleaning at 10 am. Checkout was 11am. - Served their free breakfast from 6-9 am. Way too early when you arrive at the hotel 1:30am. - They automatically lock you out of your room at 11 am when you are trying to pack your car to leave. Very lame... - Now at 11am I am standing here waiting in the lobby after the front desk attendant disappeared. Even more lame... If you arrive very late / or very early in the morning they will be trying to push out as soon as they can. I dont feel rested. Not worth the $90 I paid to stay here. Kind of a rip off. I wont stay here again and I would support and encourage you not either.

My husband were driving from Graceland , back to Minnesota. We did not want to go back around St. Louis, I found this little hotel for us to stay at about half way. We did not arrive until 9:30 P.M. We checked in quickly and found our room nice and clean. Nice beds and pillows. I loved the soft blanket on the bed! Good water pressure in the shower! Breakfast was good too! Both front desk staff were efficient and pleasant. We were on the road by 9:00 AM!! Plenty of parking too!!

Positive: Clean and helpful friendly staff. Negative: Fruit at breakfas. Bananas were brown and apples were bruised up.

I stayed at this hotel on a weekday. It was not busy. First impression was the broken residential house door used for entering from the side. It did not automatically latch so the security is not great. If you have kids or are by yourself this is not good. We opening the room door I was hit in the face with an odor. Like a stinky foot smell. The place is old but with a revamp. It has an old smell but you forget about it after a while. The bathroom needed some work. In order to close the bathroom door you have to lift the door by the know and push. The door is crooked so it won't close without doing this. When I say down on the toilet seat... the seat shifted towers the tub and I almost fell to the floor. I was very careful after that. It looked like someone peed on the back of the door too
