This place has a simplistic organic charm. The counter service gives a vintage vibe. I’ve enjoyed the curry chicken, doubles, rice, potatoes and veggies. The duck, oxtail & pumpkin roti are on my list to taste. Overall, a decent bang for your buck.
I went here while visiting Florida. The service was ok. The owner seemed very busy and could use some help at the counter as she was cooking and cashing people out. The food was ok it tasted rushed. I had the chowmin and fried fish. My husband had the brown stew chicken he said it was rubbery, but the fried rice was good.
The food is good real authentic Trinidad 🇹🇹 food. The service is good as well people who are complaining about the lady up front need to just be patient she is cooking and taking orders and has a great attitude I have been there 3 times and will continue to come everytime I am in town and it is always a pleasure to shoot the breeze with her and her husband good people. Your fellow Trini 🇹🇹 brother
Came to buy meat..decided to have an early lunch...Asked for a chicken roti with lots of pepper and was expecting for it to be in a dhalpuri shell and it wasn't. For $10 it could be a larger roti... NO pepper was added... however the curry chicken was ok...the roti skin..so so They cant make doubles... dont bother to order it.. sorry to be blunt about the doubles..the bara was so stiff like sada and when i opened the wrapper, all the channa rolled out of it literally...
The roti shell was very good. The inside curry chicken was "eh," but I'm partial to a certain masala flavor- which is more on the Carribean-Indian than Jamaican side. The pelouri balls were delicious and I loved the sauce they served with it. I think I'd like to try more of their Jamaican food when I go back. They have a great selection, and were very friendly.
