Sunflower Cuisine

We specifically left this for our last meal before vacation ended. Nothing but amazing reviews both online and by the locals. We were very disappointed and actually voted it the worst meal of our trip. Does that mean we came on a bad night? Maybe. Do we have different expectations, possibly. If I spend nearly $100 on two salads and two entrees I expect a great meal. My house salad was floppy and soggy. The GF had Kani salad which came out better than mine. For the entre I ordered the Filet and she ordered the Tuna. The Filet was ordered medium rare amd came out grey and overcooked. The Tuna was chewy to the point she took one bite and sent it back. They replaced it with a Filet pretty quickly and this time hers came out very rare. The food seemed to lack any consistency as her veggies were

Absolutely wonderful restaurant (call for reservations even in winter!!). You can get delish sushi or enjoy French cuisine for those who are not sushi lovers. EVERYTHING was wonderful. We saw them bring out a beautiful boat filled with a sushi selection for a table nearby, so fun! Nice bar menu too.

Service was chilled and nice. We had a large party of 9, so we were appreciative for the patience of the staff. They also got cool points for acknowledging my friend’s birthday with a complimentary crème brûlée. The restaurant had outdoor seating in addition to indoor. Not terribly loud. For a Thai lemonade tea, wonton soup, spring roll, drunken noodles and ice cream, it was $46. Not bad at all. I’ve heard that the portions could be larger, however, I didn’t experience that since I had courses. The flavors in all of the dishes worked well together, and were dynamic. The spring rolls come with 5 units, and are delicious- especially the sweet & spicy dip that comes with it. The soup’s contents were delicious, and the broth was potent. First time visiting Colonial Beach, I stumbled upon this Thai restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious, and the Thai tea was also very good. The Red Curry was delicious, but a little too small, which was the only thing I was not satisfied with.

I had originally come here because I was really craving pad thai, and this place had really good reviews. So I thought that I should check it out. I was BEYOND impressed. The Pad Thai is the best I have ever had in VA! I got a verity of appetizers and entrees and everything was so delicious! The service was impeccable and the restaurant was so beautiful! I can’t wait until I return to get more delicious food!!
