Sugar & Rye

We ❤️ Sugar and Rye very much. We dined there during Mardi Gras twice and came back this past weekend with our friends...twice. 😁 We were looking forward to ordering that delicious Ribeye steak again but we came during Brunch so sadly no steak. Then came back the next day during Brunch again...can't get enough. Our friends loved it, too. My favorite is the crispy flounder with the corn maque choux and jalapeño grits and Ribeye. The atmosphere is cozy, warm and chic with the amazing waiter, Hunter who did an amazing job. Also, Sissy the great Hostess. Actually, we love everyone there. Great job, Sugar and Rye on everything. First time visitor. The food was so good. Worth the trip all the way to Galveston. The decor and atmosphere is amazing in there. I had the avocado toast and my husband had the shrimp & grits. Both were delicious. I would recommend the sucre drink. Landon was our waiter and provided excellent service.

Sugar & Rye was amazing! Our server, Dimitri, took amazing care of us. We were a large group and everyone was taken care of. The service was so great and the food was amazing. We had the fried green tomatoes & corn bread as appetizers which were delicious. I had the filet mignon & Mac and cheese and it was so good. My steak was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. Next time I’m in Galveston I want to come back for brunch! If you’re in town, definitely plan to eat here.

Omg! I can not say ENOUGH about this establishment!! We reserved a very large table for my SIL (sister-in-law) Birthday + some! So accommodating and gracious because I know we were ALOT... Kyrie(please forgive me if I misspelled your name) and Sissy were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOSTS!! The food and cocktails were Great not one guest had any problems... Large group and SO many people, the service was EXCEPTIONAL! THANK YOU! 20+ served in this group and not 1 complaint. Sugar & Rye was AMAZING!

The biscuits and gravy were amazing—comfort food done right. The S&R burger was messy in the best way and absolutely delicious. Shoutout to Johnathan, our waiter, who was fantastic—funny, sweet, and made the whole experience even better. Would definitely come back!
