Strange Brew Cafe

I used to come here for many years and always enjoyed spending time either alone or with family and friends. For a long time, the atmosphere felt welcoming, but about 2.5 years ago things started to change. The staff became less friendly, sometimes even rude, and I often felt as if I was an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. They began making frequent mistakes with my orders, and instead of enjoying my breakfast, I would have to spend time trying to fix the problems. The baristas also seem to change often, and with each new team, the service has become more indifferent. Sandwich portions have noticeably shrunk, yet the prices have gone up by a couple of dollars. Cute place! Atmosphere is cozy, space is well kept. Staff was very kind, welcoming us in and wishing us a good day on our way out. Only thing I’m so so about is that my toast was $10, and was only the size of my palm. It was good, but definitely overpriced. Not sure if it’s because I got gluten free bread, but even with it being GF, it was not worth it. Matcha was pretty standard, solid powder/milk ratio. Great hangout spot and nice place to grab a snack if you feel like treating yourself, but definitely not a casual snack spot in terms of prices

The abbacado toast & vanilla lattes are my favorites. Honestly Haven’t had a better avocado toast anywhere else. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Definitely the best coffee shop in the area

Stopped in for a Latte and was pleasantly surprised at the decor inside. Kind of felt like I was on the set of the Friends show. Coffee was excellent, service great and prices are competitive. Staff are very knowledgeable about the items on their menu, polite and professional. I highly recommend Strange Brew for your coffee fix. They also have smoothies and more. Just need one in Oak Forest.

Nice, quiet place to get coffee. Their toast was super tasty and generously served, they don’t skimp out on the Ingredients. The tropical thunder smoothie bowl was also delicious. Everything was freshly made on the spot. The place itself is really cute and nicely decorated. Seems like locals go to get some work done while they have some coffee. They also have some outdoor seating available for those who prefer some fresh air. I’ll most likely be back.
