Stoughton Public Library

An excellent place to study and concentrate. The staff is attentive. The spaces are extremely organized and clear. There are several spaces for group or individual study and it caters to various ages. I really recommend this library!

Terrible place to be especially if you’re of color. The librarian on the top floor is overly rude. I asked if there was a room available she told me someone was coming in to use it which was a lie because it ended up saying open for 2 hours up until close. Then she came over to my table where my friend and I were doing our work at 8:50 and told us to “pack it up” like excuse me? She was wearing a red shirt with an uneven bob. TERRIBLE LIBRARY DO NOT COME HERE. I’m not sure where the attitude is coming from because I was very nice I can understand if you’re going though something but don’t be nasty towards me and ALSO your job as a librarian cannot be that hard to be so rude. This library is not black people friendly. Proceed with caution⚠️⚠️

As someone who’s both studied and worked in this library for a few years, it’s only worth coming here if you have a pair of noise cancelling headphones. The staff talk loudly, as if there were others nearby to speak over, and can be heard from across the library while others are focusing. To be fair, the space is nice and there’s always a decent amount of vacant seating. But again, if you don’t have headphones and would like to go into deep work or studying, you’d be better off going to a different library like the Ames Free Library.

I walking to use the computer think I can just use a guest passes. Lady on the second floor name Maggie ask me for driver license just use the guest login. Than I had ask doing her job? We’ll get I get a library card instead. She had attitude than I ask her why didn’t ask the white man for his license. She just ask for his mail not mines than she try tell my library card was block in Brockton for $15 dollars. Than I told what your name because you ask for my name than you cover your name. Than she start be combat talking too much and try have conflict as I reply okay okay okay okay okay a okay and than I had ask her stop been combat. So what people say on this reviews about these staffs suck. She need Jesus. I can’t judge others I just Maggie. Than when her staff comes up with smile an cal
