Stone's Public House

Hate leaving poor reviews, but our experience was definitely not worth a return. Stone's was recommended by a friend, so we went with high hopes. We had fish and chips and an eggplant on ciabatta roll. The fish was tasty and flaky, but the fries were overly done and dry. The eggplant was good. However, our server Noel was the main reason for the disappointing evening. After taking and delivering our order, he never returned. We had both ordered drinks and would have ordered more. Our empty waters remained unfilled. We had to flag him down so we could get dessert. Then, after a half hour passed, they arrived with no explanation for the delay. I only rate wonderful or terrible restaurants - I can’t give 3 stars. I am a fan of Irish food but this place sets the standard. The prices are ridiculously reasonable given the regions, the unique niche lore of the place, and the type of food. The service is very friendly. The food? Large servings of deliciousness. I recommend placing a reservation - the wait is justifiably long. We had the Irish pizza, the roasted cod, and the lamb shepherds pie. For dessert we had the dark chocolate lava w raspberry dish w a scoop of ice cream. I just can’t. Total bill around $120 for every drinks and some liberal spending. My only disappointment is that I can’t fit more food in. I cannot wait to come back for more!! Do yourself a favor, make the trip. You’ll be glad you did.

I really can't say enough of this place. From the sevice to the food and the room with the fireplace, I loved it. It was my first time eating there, and I will definitely go back. The Lamb Shepard pie was so delicious, the lamb was so tender, you can't go wrong with this dish. I got the lemon cake with freshly made whipped cream, intending to bring home, I ate the whole piece there, it was so good. I highly recommend Stone's Public House!

Tripped over this place while i was out on a motorcycle ride. Stopped in and it's that old school, exposed beam, pub that was built inside of a barn look. I don't know how to explain it, but it's my favorite type of restaurant. I posted a video and you can see a bit of the bar layout. I had the smoked haddock and clam chowder. So good. Not a broth, and not that stupid new England thick chowder that the spoon can stand up in. It was perfect. Plenty of clams. Slight smokey flavor. Just right. The lobster roll was awesome. Simple. Nothing crazy. Ton of meat. I wish there was a little chopped celery in it, but not a deal breaker at all. I'll ask for some next time. Brioche roll toasted just right too. French fries were great.
