Stoneham Public Library

One of the best libraries in the Boston area, next to Braintree and the main library at Copley. Clean and roomy with all the usual library features (except a water fountain), many quiet nooks that aren't infested with teens (unlike most libraries). Very friendly staff that actually care.

Used to love bringing my kids to this library. They recently did a renovation in the kids area that took close to a year I believe. We were super excited to check it out as it used to be our favorite library. Well, it’s definitely beautiful but lost its essence in the kids area and doesn’t feel as welcoming. The librarians were SUPER rude and just overall very passive aggressive when addressing the adults/kids. We also asked for more coloring pages since what was on the table was already colored and the worker told us to use the back of the pages as “they don’t have a big budget since it’s a government building”. Which is interesting because it seemed to just be printed paper. Anywho, avoiding this library like the plague now.

What a beautiful library! From the outside, it looks neat and clean, but inside it is vast and spacious. My son likes to take Manga comics here. We have not yet gone to the lowest floor, but I think it is also very cool. We recently discovered a children's department. Amiable design and there are educational games. There is a pet turtle and some computers. Parking opposite, 2 hours free parking. Usually, there is always a free lot. Enjoy!

No sense of quiet here, completely uncomfortable place to study. I can’t get any work done here due to the obnoxious employees who have zero care for the patrons. Open floor plan doesn’t help.

Great library! The staff is very efficient, helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help me scan a large document. Good thing I was under the page limit. This library is easy to get to because it is on Main Street, right off the highway, they have lots of free parking and the 132 bus stop is right out front. They have many computers you can use also. They also have a children's department. I go their to print and scan documents. If you are not a member, they give you a "guest pass". But they also give library cards to Stoneham residents.
