What a treasure! I've lived in Colville for years and finally visited this museum. I spent a couple of hours there but more is needed to really see everything. The amount of history on the grounds is outstanding. The folks who work there are so kind and helpful and just full of interesting info! I plan to visit every year. This is a must see whether you live in this area or just passing through.
There is so much to see. 12 yr and 15 yr old grandchildren were so interested in everything . We had to come back the next to finish up our tour. Day one: The “trip through time” of local history in the museum, touring the Keller House and gardens, then exploring the museum grounds and historical buildings. Lots of running room on the grounds- plus the opportunity to make friends with the resident cat . Day Two- a tour of the lookout tower. I appreciated the hand rails that lined the path on our way up the hill . And that there were only 2 flights of stairs to the top instead of the original 7 .
I love the museum. I love walking thru and seeing all of the history. And I love walking around the grounds and seeing thingsI have taken my kids when they were younger and they are now 25 and 32. I have even taken my grandkids, they love it. It would be nice tho to have things in the summer time for kids.
Very informative tour guides. I especially enjoyed the tour of the Keller house. We were there for over 2 hours and didn't see everything, we'll definitely be back!
This museum was an awesome surprise. The curator has done an incredible job in setting up the displays which tell a very clear story of the area. The volunteer we met (Jackie) could not have been a better tour guide. She is very enthusiastic, loves question, and obviously has a passion for the museum and the history it portrays. I will be going back! Thank you!
