Stephen Clay Homestead Bed and Breakfast

We stayed one night at the Steven Clay Homestead B&B. Teresa welcomed us when we arrived, even though she was in the middle of a dinner party with friends. She provided us recommendations for area restaurants, which we appreciated. ||The original house was built circa 1764. The construction was amazing with 12" wide floor boards, pocket window shades, and many more historical construction techniques. We stayed in the first floor music room, which was quiet and comfortable. Ed's career as a band teacher and musician was certainly apparent in our room and throughout the house. ||Breakfast was a pleasure. My girlfriend and I stayed here this past weekend for two nights. The owners Ed & Theresa are great people. They are very helpful, informative and friendly. They give you your privacy, but I also had some great conversations with both of them! The house is very nice, good location, gorgeous piece of land. Weddings have been held here, so that speaks volumes. The breakfast is delicious! Stayed 2 nights, tried both the eggs Benedict and pancakes 👍🏼😋. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be sure to make a return trip! PS: Anyone who is a tea lover will be in heaven. They have well over 20 different types of herbal tea, and of course coffee!

We stayed for three nights at the Steven Clay Homestead while visiting our daughter and her family in nearby Raymond. |Ed and Teresa have been loving caretakers of this historic home. They can share much of the history of the house, the area and many objects of interest. They are delightful couple and so very interesting to talk to. I'm sure if we lived nearby we could be close friends. |However, one of the best highlights of our stay was Ed's Eggs Benedict. They were so good we had them three days in a row, even though there were other tempting breakfast options. In our opinion, they were the best Eggs Benedict ever, not overly fussy or embellished, just delicious.|We will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit family or happen to be in the area.

Ed and Theresa (Innkeepers) have done a wonderful job restoring this 200+ year old home. The home was very clean, quiet, and had a large living room with comfortable furniture out and many knick-knacks and books about the history of Candia. ||||The Music Room (our guest room for 3 nights) was spacious, had a very comfortable bed, and although it was located on the first floor it was very quiet. ||||Ed and Theresa are gracious hosts and provide the personable touch that the chain hotels cannot provide. Ed cooks an amazing breakfast. His eggs benedict was so good I had it 3 days in a row. My wife loved the french toast and the real maple syrup. Very quaint bed and breakfast. We called in advance and were able to check-in early. The room was clean and a great size. Breakfast was delicious. Teresa and her husband were wonderful hosts. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area.
