Step On Top

This is a local favorite. Whenever I come to BK i grab lunch or dinner here. I had the stew chicken. West Indies version packs more flavor with meat that's super tender. I've tried for years but can't get it all in at once. And like Italian it's even better the next day. Whenever you are in Flatbush and want great West Indie food go here.

A hole in the wall with very kind and welcoming staff, generous portions at a reasonable price, and absolutely delicious. I got the medium stewed chicken with rice & peas and Mac & cheese; I ate the whole thing even though I was full halfway through, and now I’m uncomfortably full. 5 stars looking forward to doing it again.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for the last year intermittently and I have to say the food has always been amazing. Mummy the owner, she is such a delight to speak with each and every time. not sure who the chef is, but please don’t change your chef. Keep the good food coming. this week’s menu each day they had something different. It was a surprise. Big up to Step On Top. You’re doing an amazing job..

I’m very new to Caribbean food so take my 5 stars with a grain of salt but it was incredibly delicious Jerk Chicken with plenty of seasonings and very tender, rice and peas which were very good, and mac and cheese. There were really generous portions and the staff was very kind.

Typical fare of Jamaican takeout restaurants, pick a type of rice, a type of meat, and a type of side with small, medium, and large portions. Checks off all the criteria I look for: * Delicious. Flavorful and fresh. * Meat falls off the bone * Eat rice and peas alone is not bland; gravy adds flavor yet also could be eaten alone * Their dumplings are tasty, not too greasy Nice folks work here. If I hadn't gone in to order I could have easily imagined this food came from a gourmet restaurant. The meal I had picked out exceeded all expectations. Worth the extra trek from the nearest subway stop or Flatbush ave for a warm meal from here.
