State Farmers Market Restaurant

My fiance and I went here for morning breakfast and our experience was good. It wasn't too busy the waitress was very friendly although I wish there was more space in between seating cuz I feel like we were close to the people next to us. But other than that we got fresh homemade biscuits which were good and our food came out really quick and was really tasty and they give you a good portion size for the price. I definitely recommend this place and will come back but maybe for takeout next time.

I give the Farmers Market Restaurant 5 stars because they are providing a perfect Southern Experience to their clientele. The atmosphere is typical of a Southern restaurant, the service is outstanding with never ending tea, biscuits and hush puppies. They are always watching the table and if you even think you need something they are there before you know it. The menu is spot on for such a restaurant but if I am being honest, it is certainly not on par with other restaurants such as Bullocks in Durham. Everything was over-salted and the gravy was thin and lacking in flavor for my taste, and the fried green tomatoes were mostly just solid onion ring batter with a thin mushy thing in the middle.. but then, I saw dozens of people who were obviously regulars enjoying every bite. I don’t think this place needs my review, the line around the door speaks towards itself! But either way, I had a wonderful experience here and the food was delicious. The biscuits? Need to try if you can get a spot here, I’d highly recommend it!

Let me preface this by saying I'm no expert on southern food, but I do appreciate it! We ordered a fried chicken biscuit sandwich and a chicken fried steak. Turns out the plates come with a biscuit and hush puppies anyway. I thought the food was mostly good and well priced but by no means the greatest I've ever had. The fried chicken was white meat so it was a little bit dry. The biscuits were good and huge, but I don't think they were exceptional. Service was great though.

Great classic southern food. Have only had breakfast here and it is one of the best southern breakfasts you can get. The biscuits are perfectly cooked and buttered and fluffy- and you get a free basket of them with your meal! The biscuits sandwiches come absolutely loaded. The bacon egg and cheese has to have a pound of bacon that comes on it. Cute decor inside, friendly staff.
