The food and customer service is great! I can’t wait to see what they do with the lobby area! I’m very picky about my food and so I just ordered my husband‘s food and tasted his. Had we not had to runoff and pick up our girls, I definitely would’ve ordered another plate! The fish is literally cooked to perfection. It almost reminds me of when my uncle would bring home fresh catfish to cook. The shrimp was just as good. The sweet potatoes are very good. They’re a smidgen too sweet literally just a little off but overall, if it wasn’t that little smudging off, it would be a 10 out of 10. The macaroni and cheese was good as well tasted as if I made it in my own kitchen, definitely 10 out of 10. I need y’all to let them do what they do in the kitchen and not complain, OK? Because some Jamai

Just left this place for the 1st time. Everything about this experience was great! Great family, and food is extraordinary. Nothing too heavy, even the macaroni wasn't overly cheesy like most places and man.. some of the best mac n cheese I've had in forever. Everything has flavor! Peach tea was delicious, broccoli, grilled lemon pepper shrimp etc etc!! This is what soul food supposed to taste like!! 10 stars!!!!!!! Oh and they have sweet potato cornbread which is new to me but definitely worth a try. Prices are definitely pocket friendly. But the moment you walk in and see the people there you know you came to the right place. Thank you all and God bless! I bought someone's items at dollar general (they had issuec with card) after I left.. yall put me in a good mood. Almost forgot I came

Went for the first time today and will definitely be going again. I ordered the grilled pork chop, fried okra, and cabbage and my daughter got the chicken sandwich, rice and gravy, and mac-n-cheese, both with cornbread. It tasted like everything was made fresh! The chicken and pork chop were seasoned really well, but would definitely be better with a sauce (my fault for not getting any). The cornbread is of the sweet variety and very moist and flavorful. Rice and gravy was really good. The cabbage was okay; cooked to the perfect texture but a bit salty for my taste (I like a more vinegar base). The portions were huge and very worth the price - the chicken plate was only $10 for all that! Plus everyone there was incredibly friendly and the food came out in a very reasonable amount of time.

I ate here a few weeks ago for the first time with my boyfriend. My grandma was from Arkansas, passed away in 2018 and by far this is the closest thing to her cooking I've ever eaten. The food is AMAZING, the atmosphere feels like home, and the service makes you feel like you're a part of the family. Never would've guessed a small town place would become my favorite restaurant but here we are.

Some of the best if not only soul food you will find in the Midwest coming from someone from North Carolina who knows what food that touches the soul looks and taste like but hey don’t take my word for it go try for yourself.
