A very good library with bright, comfortable reading spaces. It can get a bit crowded with students at times, but otherwise it’s a perfect spot for studying or quiet reading.
I will never come here to do any quiet work ever again. This branch is right across the street from Parkway North High School. I was cool working until the students got out of school. Some of the students were talking loudly, cussing, and teasing another student around their age for almost 20 minutes. I ended up moving to a different part of the library so that I could focus. Then, when I was trying to leave the parking lot, not one but two cars almost hit me as I was attempting to back out of a parking spot. I only came here because I had an appointment close by, and it was convenient for me to do some school work before I had to go to my second job
Thornhill is very close to Dolan Memory Care Homes and the environment is very relaxing. This feels like a library which is crucial for those with sensory issues. The parking is nice and the staff very warm and welcoming.
This is one of the best library I ever visited. Very nicely build structure, books are cataloged appropriately, ample space for parking. One of the attraction is the kids play area which makes parents much easier to beings kids to library and make them habit of reading.
The remodel is so lame. It used to have a lovely atrium garden area along the entirety of one wall that gave pleasant, natural lighting, along with chess sets, mid-century furniture and fittings and details throughout. Someone obviously put a lot of thought into the original construction, and it was a very pleasant place to sit and read or study. The new version has a harsh, extremely generic, corporate environment feel with cheap furnishings they probably bought off of amazon. It feels like you could be in any insurance or dmv office anywhere. I can't believe they actually spent money to ruin what was a perfectly good structure. Also much less emphasis on books. If libraries had been like this when I was a kid, I probably would have spent a lot less time in them.
