We came in for my birthday dinner on a Monday night before an Iowa Hawkeye basketball game. It wasn't packed, but they weren't dead either. We were able to be sat in a nice comfy corner booth right away. Our server took great care of us for the entire meal. I ordered a cocktail called Limelight and it was so yummy that I had to get another one. 😁 I also took advantage of the Happy Hour oysters. But, beware, not all of them apply to the special. Some are still full price, so be sure before ordering. They were all clean, cold, fresh, and yummy in my tummy. My husband got the burger and fries and I ordered the Voodoo Shrimp, which is technically an appetizer. But, after all those oysters, I was perfect with eating the shrimp and dipping the bread in all the delicious sauce. It was just the ri
Super cool down in the Den area, especially now that it's decorated for Christmas. The salmon chowder was delicious. The Buffalo chicken burrito was interesting. Not sure I'd order it again, but definitely worth the experience.
Great overall experience! Service was great. We went for the oyster and seafood happy hour and we were not disappointed. Chardonnay paired perfect with the seafood tower. We also tried their old sol cocktail and it was delicious.
Stopped our way back from the Ragbrai Event Saturday afternoon. Mainly raw oysters caught our eye. They were perfect! The hot crab served with wavy potato chips was not very good. It's kind of the bottom of the bag, for the chips. Chips-caviar I've had, crab and chips?? The lobster dish was very good. If only a nice piece of bread served with this would have made the dish delightful. Instead, I ran my finger and licked as much as I could. Dessert was the Campfire Sundae. Ice cream was a tad mellted but nice flavor. Aperol Spritz and a couple of Manhattans were nicely served. The server was ok. Tipped $50 cash on a $174 bill.
This is definitely the best restaurant in IC. The oysters were very fresh and tasted amazing, especially with the variety they had. Steak also tasted amazing, perfectly seasoned and cooked, truffle fries were amazing and the desert was really good. Good wine as well. As for the service, from the moment you enter staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Overall this is a must in Iowa City and will be a go to for me for now on
