Squire House Bed & Breakfast

I stayed at Squire House last month and it was a wonderful experience. The house is quaint with charm and character. Gay and Roger made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. They're very thoughtful, asking what my interests were and providing activity and meal suggestions around the Dorset/Manchester area. I explored the cute town center and went on a beautiful hike I wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for them, which making my trip extra special. I highly recommend staying at Squire House for your next Vermont vacation. I'll definitely be back!

What a great experience. The historic home is beautiful and elegant while still cozy and welcoming. It is full of amenities that rival the best hotels. The Squires are as delightful and refined as the accommodations. Their attentive service is delivered with a warm genuineness that makes guests feel more like family. The hand crafted breakfast was a five star experience that topped off the memorable stay. The grounds are peaceful and relaxing. We will definitely be returning to this gem that is nestled in the charming town of Dorset.

After significant research into the many Manchester and Dorset Inns we decided upon the stately Squire House and we were not disappointed. As opposed to many of the other inns this one is situated on a very quiet and beautiful road on 11 acres of trees, rock, gardens, lawn, and with the sound of a nearby creek. Our stay was very peaceful and quiet, so relaxing.|We had the Elizabeth Wilcox suite with its 5 large windows and lovely views of the trees, as we needed the extra space and the fridge and coffee maker. The other rooms didn't offer these things but from what I could tell they looked absolutely beautiful and private with lovely views as well.|We really enjoyed getting to know the owners Gay and Roger and conversing with them. We spent a delightful weekend at Squire House. Everything was perfect. The decor was beautiful, the breakfasts were delicious, our hosts, Gay and Roger, were welcoming and offered suggestions of things to do in the area, and the grounds were lovely. Our room had a fireplace so we were able to relax in front of the fire after a busy day. Although the weather did not really cooperate we found plenty of things to do from the Southern Vermont Arts Center, to the Vermont Country Store and the Northshire Bookstore. We highly recommend Squire House as a wonderful getaway any season of the year.

Gay and Roger Squire have lovingly restored and maintain this historic and idyllic home which we were fortunate to stay at while at the Manchester Music Festival.|The breakfast of Crème Brûlée French Toast, homemade granola and roasted peaches was spectacular. Thank-you, Gay for sharing your recipe for the French Toast, which will now be our family “go-to” recipe!!!|Every detail at Squire House is infused with care and beauty! A very singular and unforgettable stay!
