Spruce Moose Lodge Bed and Breakfast

My friend and I stayed at the Spruce Moose Lodge for 2 nights in June 2024. We absolutely loved it! Leon & Nellie were so kind and accommodating. The breakfasts were wonderful! We spent one evening hanging out in the living room area, working on a puzzle while watching a movie. We loved spending time with their dogs, Avery & Jed. The location is perfect - quiet but walking distance to the cute downtown area. Super short drive to tons of great hikes! Leon gave us some great suggestions and helped us with our planning. The rooms are adorable and super comfortable. We slept great! Highly HIGHLY recommend!

I have to say, this B&B was spectacular in every way imaginable. The inn owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. The rooms were wonderful, clean and quiet. The breakfast was fantastic, and notably so considering I have dietary restrictions - they went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied. The location was also great, and easily walkable to the downtown area. I couldn't have asked for a better stay and would no doubt recommend them! Their dogs also made our stay that much more lovely :)

We stayed for four nights and were very sad to leave. Nellie and Leon made us feel like their home was our home too. The house is beautiful. Other reviews state that it is not fancy but it is extremely homely and we were made to feel so welcome. Sitting with other guests at breakfast (french toast, eggs, pancakes) was so interesting, hearing where everyone was from and what they were visiting. One day, we ate a picnic lunch on the verandah in the gorgeous fall sunshine. Being able to help ourselves to tea and coffee (particularly the wide range of herbal teas :) ) was an added bonus as were the sweet snacks left out in the evenings (cookies and doughnuts!). Honestly, thank you so much Nellie and Leon for such a wonderful stay!

Cute bed & breakfast with nice owners. The big room is a pleasant place to sit by the fire. My bedroom was nice and more spacious than I expected. The building has an enjoyable rustic feel. Everything seems very well maintained. Perfect combo of old and new. I didn't have a chance to enjoy breakfast this time (had to leave very early for a hike), but it sounded delicious. The location is perfect too. If you (like me) prefer to walk into town rather than drive, it's only a 5 or 10 minute walk, entirely on sidewalks. I'm surprised it's possible to have such a good experience for this price! My friends spent the same amount at a terrible motel.

This place has everything that a great B&B should have. Wonderful host and hostess. Super breakfasts, although not fancy. Coffee all day and afternoon cookies. Large living room for guests. Fascinating guests to share travel tips with. Two friendly dogs. A wonderful porch to sit and watch hummingbirds up close. Location is very close to the town center, yet the place is very quiet. The room was very comfortable, with a fine shower.
