Spring Mill Beach

Went fishing and the only action was these two lovers, putting on a show. Lots of crying kids and loud music.

Beautifully clear water. Swimming beach is shallow but the base shelves off very quickly beyond that. It's like a mirror in the early mornings. It used to be packed during Covid but not anymore, especially weekdays. Freezes over during the winter.

Only a matter of time before the whole place is bulldozed. CLOSE THE MINING COMPANY. This is what they are bulldozing behind spring mill pond. The wildlife here is immense. Why sell it to a dirty business?

Love this place, always clean water, no that crowded on weekdays. It’s a pretty cool place to spend a whole day… just careful around because there’s wild animals around the pond, snakes, spiders, chipmunks, etc.

If you go on a day where almost no one is in the water you can see freshwater jellyfish (Craspedacusta sowerbii). They like to stay in the 3 to 6 foot range. I have one in my mask if you look closely. Water is clean and healthy. A few leeches if you dive through the seaweed but they won't hurt you.
