Southworth Library

Love this local library. Great service. Clean and nice place to enjoy a book or work on class project. Have many great resources. Wifi is good.

Decent-sized library with an entire floor dedicated specifically for kids. They offer free WiFi, however, the connection is intermittent. I wish they would improve upon that. Also, I wish some of the library-goers were more cognizant of basic library rules, like being quiet. From people talking loudly on cellphones, to people loudly eating crunchy foods (why do they allow food anyway?), it is consistently noisy here, making concentrating really difficult. Because of the noise level, I’ve found myself making the trek to the library in downtown New Bedford instead, where the rules of library etiquette are strictly enforced.

Although the library is organized and staff seems friendly, the noise level is ridiculous. It can be quiet from time to time until the staff have very LOUD conversations, disregarding those who need silence to work. I can even hear them through my noise canceling headphones!

Nice library for kids and they run many events for kids. My daughter was so excited to get her library card and already read 4 books in 2 days. Help them toss the electronics and spend some time reading. Bring them to the library.

Very nice library with pleasant, friendly, helpful staff. It is a large library with a nice flow of new books/materials so plenty of current options. Kiddie section is on first floor.
