South Lane Bistro

Had the most wonderful dinner with our dearest of friends last night! From our warm and welcoming greeting until the moment that we walked out if the door, our experience was sweet and kind, delicious and incredibly heart warming! Food was next level, drinks delicious, fire toasty and both staff and crowd top notch! Not sure just what more Guilford could be looking for when seeking amazing food in a wonderful and cozy setting! South Lane is a staple in Guilford's culinary scene and a true hometown favorite!

This is a small restaurant with excellent food and a nice atmosphere. It's best to have a reservation. The menu has lots of locally sourced food that is prepared to perfection. I particularly like to sit in the room with the modern gas fireplace that adds a nice ambiance to the room and warmth in the colder months.

Over priced and under portioned. Corn and potato soup was tiny and $16. Really tiny, just a few spoonful. Other items similarly portioned. Went with my son. Spent $110 and left hungry. They have to realize when people arrive for dinner they want to have dinner, not just pretend to have dinner.

This is the only restaurant that has ever asked me to leave right after paying. There were 3 open tables around us, it wasn’t near closing, and this was after we had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time before even being seated. The food was good, but this was rude and unwelcoming.

My wife and I had a wonderful evening at this Bistro. Our food was excellent and the waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended!
