South Fork Public House

One of my favorite places on the Palouse! Southfork’s staff is always friendly and accommodating. Their food and ambiance is stellar! (Plenty of seating!) Summers are pleasant with their outdoor seating in the back! Quick service! I crave their breadsticks and lettuce wraps almost daily! Cougar Gold Mac and Cheese is always top notch! I don’t drink, but their local drinks on tap and cocktails are always a hit with my coworkers!

We drove out to Pullman hoping for a solid meal and maybe a new favorite spot. Instead, we got a reminder that good marketing doesn’t always equal good food. My wife ordered the baby back ribs, which looked promising — right up until she tried to eat them. They were so dry I think we both heard them crack when she cut in. “Fall off the bone”? Nope. More like claw your way to freedom. The BBQ sauce was alright, but the coleslaw… yikes. It tasted like someone accidentally left it in the sun and then forgot to add flavor when they remembered it existed. I went with the Prime Rib Dip, expecting something rich and juicy. Server was very inattentive. Food looks delicious, but sat in the window too long and was not hot when served. This impacted my review. We had to wait over 30 minutes for server to check back and bring the bill. Atmosphere is nice.

Came in on a blessing and was incredibly surprised! I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries. Basic, right? Not today Satan!! Too many local restaurants get a burger wrong, but this one was perfect. We were greeted like Rockstars and the atmosphere was very cool, too. I was concerned when I seen the fries but they were excellent. Perfect gastro pub style gourmet and superb service. I recommend South Fork Public to anyone in need of affordable and delicious.... Can't wait to return. Thanks, Jim.

Had a great lunch at South Fork! The service was excellent, doing a great job with meal orders, and keeping drinks refilled. I ordered the Cheesesteak and my wife order the Guacamole Chicken sandwich. I'm always worried about showestring fries. Frequently you get too many tiny pieces. But South Fork's seasoned fries are perfect! Great fried texture. Excellent seasoning! The fry sauce was a great addition to the overall fries. The cheesesteak was excellent on the pita bread. Loved the Cougar Gold cheese sauce, though I wished the Cougar Gold flavor was stronger. But it was a delicious sandwich. My wife really loved the Guacamole Chicken sandwich. The guacamole had great flavor, and the chicken was tasty. Definitely want to go back and try more of the menu!
