SOUL GREEDY

Yams were way too sweet and so candied they were hard and almost transparent.. tasted like they soaked them in molasses,or that Malta beverage..I couldn’t eat half of them waste of money. Fish was good but a little salty Cabbage was spicy but delicious Mac was good too. If you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes this is definitely not the place for you.

This is the Greatest Soul Food spot in New Haven and Surrounding Areas. I have ordered twice from this restaurant and both times the food was greater than expected. My first order was ribs, Kraft Mac and cheese, and collards… Everything was a perfect 10. This second time I ordered Salisbury steak, track Mac and cheese, yams, and greens. Again the food was excellent. The only down side was the portion size. For $35 I felt I should’ve gotten a little more, but the taste makes up for it. Very pleased with this restaurant as I am from down south and miss the food. This is the closest I got to Southern Cusine and will continue to purchase

I ordered from here a few times and the people are so nice and they try to accommodate you.. but I’m sorry the food is not good. The mac and cheese is dry and flavorless, yams are way too sweet to enjoy, and let’s not even discuss the rice. The one good thing I’ve had here is the catfish which is so tasty and they give a nice portion of that. I want this place to do well but they have to do better with the food.

I was feeling for turkey wings so i called arpund and found soul greedy who had them. The lady at the front was nice place looked decent but honestly the food could have been better . The turkey wings had no real flavor just a boiled taste really needs more seasoning and love . Also the potatoes were very watery and not tasty at all needs some butter and milk salt and garlic less water. The fresh watermelon lemonade taste like its from koolaid . One good note was the stuffing . But i wont be going here again . Maybe i picked the wrong items should have went with the regular fried chicken and mac cheese but i wanted other soul food and this wasnt it . Thanks for trying . Cost for this was also A bit much nice people but i want good food .

Originally from CT. Live in Cali now. Visiting family. My mom took me here. Soul glad she did. We don't have good soul food in Cali. This was 🔥! We had smothered pork chops, greens, cabbage, yams & macaroni and cheese. Omgggg the pork chop was so tender, juicy and the gravy was old school perfection. Luv'd every bite. The greens were my favorite. The macaroni could have been a lil cheesier for my liking but the flavor was great. Told my cousin how good the food is so we're gonna meet up here for lunch before I head back to Cali. 💗
