Today was my first time eating at Soul Food Joint. The food and the service were Amazing. I order ribs, mac & cheese, candy yams & cornbread. The ribs were so tender the rib bone fell right off the meat. Mac and Cheese mouth watering, flavorful & melt in your mouth. Candy yam sweet like sweet potato pie filling. Last but not least cornbread tastes like moist pound cake. If you haven’t went please go support this amazing business and enjoy a Spuld food adventure ❤️❤️❤️

REVISED - 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had to come back and revise this review due to the hours, being extremely inconsistent on two occasions I tried to visit this business during the hours which they state they were open, and they were closed such a tragedy. Yes I took a lil nibble before taking the pic, sue me! The fish- mine was fried extra hard and it was just that; super crispy. Unfortunately I thought it was a tad bit salty but I’m not a fan of salt on anything. My daughter on the other had said it was not too salty. Potato salad and greens- both did not taste homemade 👀 Mac and Cheese - this is definitely homemade. I will say it’s a solid Mac. I believe the guy who served me was the owner and he was super sweet throughout my whole time there. Bottom line would I go back, yes. Should you go, yes

The owner and his coworker get 10+ stars! Unfortunately, they are never open despite their hours stating differently. In fact, I drive past the establishment nearly every day and night of the week, and it always gives the appearance of not even being in business, always dark inside and few to no cars around. I managed to find them open only once months ago. A plethora of negative stars for this. As for the food, if you love a few greens or mac and cheese with your salt, then this place is for you. Servings were bountiful with so much salt one could float on top. The ubiquitous amount of salt literally prevented me from tasting the actual food product. However, the fish was very good with a bit too much salt for my taste, though nowhere near as salty as the side dishes I had. The cornbread

Very small restaurant. We did enjoy the music like 70-90's R&B. The music was really loud but the owner respected our request to turn it down some. Our table was not clean or the floors. I kicked some food to the side that was there before we sat down. We see so much potential for the place! The table was wobbly. Nice spot for open mic. The owner was very friendly! He was working alone it seemed. It was nice finding out the history behind the restaurant. We wish them the best! Make soul food proud! You have a gem and your place can be on the map. Food: the fried deviled eggs were too salty! Like someone took the top off the salt shaker and it all came out. The Mac n cheese was good but some of the cheese was dark and not melted all the way. The fish was good but I had to ask for sauce. I

We had the family Meal. The chicken is cut up In front of you from a whole chicken. Just seeing that kind of effort alone is unbelievable, most buy precut sections and serve it to customers but not here. Here they make everything fresh right after it’s ordered. The deep fried deviled eggs are a unique twist on a fan favorite. The fried fish was amazing, the cornbread had a hint of nutmeg or cinnamon. The candy yam is probably the only thing I couldn’t get in board with. It had that southern clove taste that I’ve just never been a fan of.
