Sophia's Italian Restaurant

Update. I had the chicken parm and chicken piccata tonight and they were both amazing. Sophia was there too and she is the ultimate hostess. If you are in Ocean City, Maryland - you must eat there. You will be very very happy you did. Who doesn’t like being very very happy. Sophia’s is my favorite restaurant in the OC. First off, Sophia is usually there and she is lovely, always making you feel at home. Her staff is very attentive and always checking up on your needs. And the food is that old world Italian flavor. Everything is tasty and great but I highly recommend the chicken parm & pasta. The lasagna is right up there and the meat is minced which makes it especially soft and flavorful. We regularly go there and it’s always a pleasure and a happy experience.

My husband and I, along with a number of his friends and their wives, had a fabulous dinner at Sophia‘s. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and hot. We were also delighted by the big portions. No one left hungry!

Great experience! We hosted a celebration of life lunch for 50 people. Sophia had great ideas for how to manage it and it was nicely executed from the beautiful charcuterie set up at the bar to the delicious meals made to order, but swiftly prepared and served to guests. The event was concluded with cannolis and her famous cookies. The wine choices were good but reasonably priced and they even took some photos and dropped them to my phone before we left. Sophia’s is a gem of a family run restaurant among the many chains in OC. The lunch and dinner do not disappoint and they did a great job with this event.

This is NOT your average pizza place! This is a hidden gem! Place was bustling and we think we had a newer seasonal employee but the owner Sofia was in the trenches making sure everything was ok. There was also a gentleman with a mustache who was like a magician making magic happen. Food was delicious including the hot fresh bread. We had the veal and chicken parms and the shrimp scampi and Alfredo. Will definitely be back.

A visit to Sophia’s is a must, every time I am in OC. My favorite eggplant Parmesan anywhere! - served with pasta that is so fresh, with the best tomato sauce I’ve ever tasted. And her bread! Warm from the oven, crisp exterior, fluffy on the inside. Sophia‘s Greek salad is wonderful, with the tastiest stuffed grape leaves. The chicken Parm is a stand out. Portions are generous, as is Sophia’s warmth when you visit.
