Sole Food BBQ

People who cook know the feeling of trying new food and being disappointed, because of this I tend to stay away from ordering soulfood and just make it myself. However, during lunch break at work I decided to try this spot that came up on Google. I am blown away. The food is amazing! I ordered bbq ribs, Mac n cheese, yams and peach cobbler. The Mac n cheese is delicious, it tastes the way my mom makes it and it’s so good. The bbq ribs are tasty. They aren’t falling off the bone tender but definitely not difficult to eat and the flavor is good. The yams for me were sweeter than I would prefer but I still ate them all cuz they were good. Every thing I ordered was delicious. I’ve never heard of Fried Ribs… I’ve had them twice in two weeks. The macaroni and cheese and cheese and cheese is delicious 😋. I’ve had the collard greens 🥬 and the green beans (drank the juice/ pot liquor) which lets you know that flavor is delicious. The peach cobbler is worth cheating on my diet 🤫 They offer samples of the sides and trust me… it’s more than a month full. The service is to be commended as well as the cleanliness. Everyone has been extremely nice and friendly. Did I mention that the music is R&B and never inappropriate 👍🏽 Tonight I was offered a sample of Candied Wings… yup-they got me. No disappointments! One thing I hate is when people use words like the best, amazing, fantastic for places that is regular. This review is not to bash the restaurant but for the reviewers who make it seem like this is the best establishment on earth. The food here is ok, not no amazing. The catfish didnt have any taste of seasoning or spices. The greens had no turkey just plain and needed a little salt for me to eat it. The Mac and Cheese and Rice wasn't too bad. The fried chicken was ok as well. Yams were not available, so i didnt have a chance to try. I would probably go back to try the ribs. All in all just another plate of food. Must try!!! We ordered the fried ribs with fries quick bites, the sweet potato pound cake, the fried whiting fish dinner with Mac and cheese and candied yams. Hands down some of the best soul food I've ever had. The staff was so warm and inviting. I wish I ordered 2 orders of the fried ribs they were the things I've tasted. Next time I'm in the area, I'm coming back. My son ate the wings so fast never got a chance to get a picture of his food. I promise you will not be disappointed!!!

Had to repost, Google erased your location: Employees were professional, Food was delicious. Loved the big fried wings, collar greens, and sweet potatoes. Would have given 5 stars but they were out of potato salad right after opening but that could change next visit. Went back a 2nd time they had potato salad and it was good along with the order. 3rd visit,,,,,, NO POTATO SALAD AGAIN. SMH but love the employees and the food.
