Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q

My husband and I decided to give this place a try due to all the good reviews and are extremely disappointed. We ordered a “chicken tender snack” and a “chicken tender platter” in the drive thru and were asked to pull forward and wait 10 minutes for the chicken to be cooked which is fine. We got all the way home excited to try everything only to realize there were no sides with the “chicken tender platter” like there were supposed to be. The tenders seemed like they still needed to be cooked a little longer. The fries that came with the “tender snack” tasted old and not fresh. Can’t believe we wasted $25 just to be disappointed.

Absolutely 5 star service- we were just trying out their food, and were immediately impressed by the amazing food, particularly their chilli vinegar sauce. Need to add that the service is just super awesome.

Grabbed potato salad to go while charging next door. Funny story, my wife tried the door after 10, when they open and it was locked. I had seen an employee at the drive through window and I tried the door about 15 min after my wife and it was still locked, so I walked to the drive through window to order and informed them the doors were still locked. I have always appreciated the consistency of Smithfield’s. The BBQ isn’t great, it’s electric cooked with no wood/smoke, but it’s consistent. The chicken has always been crunchy and generous. However, portion sizes have gotten significantly smaller while prices have gone up significantly larger. A Google image search will show you the days when you would get a full plate of bbq with sides. Today I had over half a plate of hushpuppies and maybe five bites of Brunswick stew. My chicken was soggy and the bbq was about as bland as I’ve ever had from a Smithfield’s. Over $16 for lunch and you’d expect a little more.

Tonight I was doordashing and received an order from here. The crap I witnessed was ridiculous. The manager on duty, an older woman with glasses, treated a younger (clearly high school, she had her book bag) employee was outrageous. To preface, I worked here in high school myself so I know how the machines and receipts work. When I got there, the girl politely said that she was off the clock and someone else would help me. They weren’t busy when I got there and nobody was in the drive through so any of the other employees could have helped me, I told her not to worry about it. I’m not sure if this is what upset the manager or something prior. But I didn’t even realize the younger blond employee had ordered something until she asked for it to be made and the manager recalled it. After what
