Slow Groovin BBQ

One of the best BBQ/Smokehouses in all of Colorado, they're only open from May to October, then they close for the season. They are in the heart of the Elk Mountains at 7,960 ft in elevation. It's about a 40 min drive from Glenwood Springs. The smoked chicken is absolutely phenomenal. Crispy skin, the rub is to die for, the chicken is moist and incredibly tender. The ribs are perfectly smoked on an enormous stick burner smoker with hickory wood and pecan. Tender and tasty with an excellent dry rub. It's pricey but worth every dime when I go. My plate and drink before tip were $40. But you get your moneys worth. The cornbread isn't good at all, it has a peculiar taste and is very dry and crumbly. The beans and slaw were good. Great bbq place in the middle of mountains. Was wheeling by crystal mills and on our way out heard we had to stop in. Boy did we. Great food. Pastrami sandwich, bbq pork, chicken sandwich, and some Mac and cheese. All the food was super good, great service and a lively place. They’ll get you drinks to were you are waiting while you wait for your table

Absolutely loved our experience at Slow Groovin BBQ in Marble! The service was top-notch — friendly, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we walked in. A special shoutout to Linda, who went above and beyond to guide us through the menu and gave us some amazing recommendations. The food? Incredible. We tried the brisket nachos, the brisket beef platter, and the blueberry lemonade — every single bite and sip was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The brisket was juicy and tender, the nachos were loaded and delicious, and that blueberry lemonade was so refreshing and unique! If you’re in the area and love good BBQ, this place is a must-visit. Great vibes, amazing food, and service that makes you feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back!

Great pulled pork and brisket. The cornbread was the sweet cornbread variety that was one of the best I've ever had. The cornbread dessert was a perfect blend of warm, sweet flavors mixed with chilled ice cream and subtle additions of honey. Tucked in between aged pine trees with mountains, foothills, and a nearby clear lake. Great atmosphere. Polite and courteous service accompanies fantastic food with a laid back environment. Highly recommend!

We are from the Kansas City area, so we have had our fair share of BBQ. This place has the best BBQ we have ever tried in our lives. We got the brisket, sausage, smoked salmon and the burnt ends. The brisket is absolutely the winner, but everything was wonderful. Service was excellent and the beer selection was fantastic. It’s worth the drive to Marble just to try this place out.
