Silvernail Inn

First off, talk about a Diamond in the rough! This place is a little off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip. We had Elaine as a server and she was phenomenal. This food will blow your mind. Everything from start to finish was homemade. That including the bread they brought to the table, WARM! I went there looking for a non-breaded fish. They had nine choices. All homemade! All fabulous! I ordered the Thai coconut. My husband ordered the bourbon. We've never been here before but we will be back. Did I mention they have an all you can eat salad bar? There were so many topping choices. Something for everyone. I haven't been this impressed with a restaurant in a while! Thank you Elaine for making this visit amazing. We will be back! 20 out of 10 highly highly recommends!

Went with a group of 8, 1 person liked his fish, 7 of us did not, undercooked, running with water on the platter. Salad bar was good, bread was excellent. I've had the burger there before and it was good, my wife's old fashioned was excellent. The fish was so bad that it brought this review. Ok place just don't get any type of Friday fish fry. Costly as well! They took my meal off so it was $233 for 7 people with a few drinks involved. They also tell you up front its going to be a half hour wait for fish because its all cooked to order. The wait was real, the cooked to order part (at least for a few of us) was not! Try the burger, the prime, the ribs......beware the fish!

Was looking for a new place for dinner on a Friday night. After searching around the Milwaukee area I started checking the suburbs and came across The Silvernail Inn. in Waukesha. We arrived early to enjoy a few cocktails before dinner. They have a nice size bar, great for pre dinner cocktails or catching a sporting event on TV. The place was packed being prime time on a Friday night. We were able to get 2 seats at a small table in the bar area. Bartenders were professional and polite. Drinks were prepared well and reasonably priced. When it was time to dine, we were led to our table in one of two dining areas. The menu features steaks, fish, and sandwiches. In feel as though I just threw $130 into the fire. Totally disappointed in what I had hoped to be a nice anniversary dinner for my husband and I. Our server was the best part of the experience. The steaks however were way overpriced for terrible quality. Tough, poorly seasoned sirloin and ribeyes. Salad bar was good, bread was good. Honestly could have and have had wayyyy better steaks and sides at Texas Roadhouse. Won’t be back.

Great food. Good bread. Spinach dip was very creamy-almost soup like. Highly recommend.
