Shurling Branch Library

This is a nice mid size library. There are quiet study sections towards the back near the computers. It is always very clean and clean in there. The staff are wonderful! The obviously care a lot for the community and have lots of helpful services available. The surrounding area, I must admit is a bit sketchy you will be fine though, just be aware of your surroundings and park in the front . Also, the hours seem to vary a bit from what is listed online but they have a sign out front to let you know when they are officially open or closed,

I went into the library for their notary services and was confronted by the branch manager who was also the notary. I say confronted because she had attitude from the start. I was to have an affidavit notarized and she refused. She gave some reason that made no sense. I hate stupid people and this one definitely did not know what she was talking about. I'm a retired attorney and I know what a notary can notorize and what one can't. And since I had other of the same affidavits notarized at the Washington library it made even less sense. Banks, UPS, and notaries have all notorized my affidavits with no problem. Maybe because I was white. She did seem to have this I'm better than you confrontational attitude from the start. Anyway, good did come out of this. Now I don't have to deal with her

They need a new printer!!!! I had an important appointment and had to wait several hours for my papers to print out because the printer was old and very slow!!! It's nice for reading books and using the computer but if you need a lot of print copies I suggest you try a different Library in the area.

Awesome experience! Haven't stepped foot in a library since...forever, but Kate made me feel right at home. It was like visiting an old friend. So heartwarming. Oh,and guess what else? I got myself a library card...again! Y'all don't understand, I loved visiting the library as a child well into my adult years...this is quite a big deal for me and once again Kate( the Librarian...is it"PC" to say Librarian these days,hmmm?) Kate,welcomed me back with open arms( figuratively speaking, sigh,Covid guidelines) she's awesome guys!
