Shogun Sushi

Incredibly authentic Japanese establishment focused on good food and service. The chirashi bowl had some of the freshest fish I've had in CA, which is surprising since this is the AV. The Japanese speaking staff is awesome, and this restaurant teleports me back to Japan. There's a reason why every AV local recommends this place!

I want to like this place because someone very dear to me spoke very highly of it. They even had their birthday dinner here. I can NOT see why. The sushi rolls look like gas station sushi rolls. I had two rolls that hardly had any tuna or salmon in them. My wife had the teriyaki chicken. It was so dry that I suggested she could save it and eat later in the shower. I know there are better sushi restaurants in Palmdale but this wasn't my suggestion.

This place was recommended to us a couple of times, so we stopped in on a weeknight without reservations. We were able to be seated immediately. The atmosphere in the restaurant is phenomenal, it feels like you've stepped out of the desert of the AV into a authentic sushi bar in LA or even Japan. The staff were all very friendly and informative with any questions we had. The sushi was generous portions sizes and deliciously prepared. The sushi dinner allowed us to sample a variety of different fish, and we ordered some mackerel sushi on the side. The tuna and yellowfin weren't for me, but the albacore was probably the best single bite of sushi I've ever had. Biggest knock would be that the prices absolutely reflect the quality of product and service. Definitely not somewhere I would recomm

This spot is really quite incredible. A true oasis of great food in the desert. I highly recommend you make reservations if you have a party of more than 3-4 people. The menu is very simple and everybody in mymgeoup loved the food. The fish was incredibly well prepared and the attention to detail was evident in the presentation. Had the sushi dinner and found it to be a culinary treat. In particular the albacore left me and a few of my buddies raving. The staff was super friendly and our waitress was excellent at recommending sake. Try the unfiltered for something a bit different! Completely spaced on taking a picture of my dinner, but took a snap shot of some of the fish!

We finally came back after a few years, and wow, I don’t need any other sushi place ever again. The sea bass was even more incredible than I had remembered from a few years back and it just melts in your mouth! The sushi was perfect — not too cold, but also not warm or anything, unlike a lot of sushi places that have very cold pieces of fish. This was the perfect temperature, and each piece melted in your mouth. I highly recommend the sea bass combo with the sushi. We went at 5:30 pm on a Saturday with a reservation but it wasn’t too busy. The wait staff was very nice, unlike a couple other reviews mentioned.
