Shogun Restaurant

1st time visiting this restaurant a week ago!! All I can say is , WOW!! The food was phenomenal!!! We had dishes and sushi!! All tasted great! They put their own take on traditional hibachi food. It's one of the best Japanese restaurants I've dined at. It's in a shopping center, so you'd think it's just another hibachi joint. But it's far from that! The taste of their dishes and the way they're prepared will blow your mind!! Located in Oakland, TN. If you're in this area, you HAVE to try this place out, and if you're not, it's worth the drive! You won't be sorry!! My family and I are definitely coming back here in the near future!! Relaxing atmosphere, excellent service!

Overall not bad for a lunch. Just picked out a few rolls and some eel. The staff here were really friendly and the place was clean.

Fried rice only has egg in it (no peas or carrots). Eggs rolls were good. The crab Rangoon was overcooked and hard with barely any cream cheese filling. Disappointing. I wouldn't order that again. Egg drop soup was good but we only got a teacup amount of crunchy wontons for 2 people with 2 bowls of soup (not cups). We asked for refills on unsweetened tea and were given 1/2 a glass each. Not sure what the issues are but the owner is very friendly.

Finally a place that can get clear soup right! The soup was literally clear hot water with onions and mushrooms thrown in what looks like last second….. Asian restaurant with no YumYum sauce? This is the place for you… You like food cooked in old oil? Also for you! The chicken was chewy and dry. The pork was like a mystery meat, dark, rubbery, crunchy with cartilage. Neither my gf or I could bare to eat more than 2 bites of the entree.

The Mongolian beef is some of the best I have ever had, their fried rice also is so much better than most others.!
