Shogun Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar

Cece was the waitress and she was awesome! Great work to keep it from a bad review! The food was very good but they do not u destined the English meaning of buffet and how we do it. You are charged for anything you don’t eat and you can’t order partial plates which means you cannot order a few kinds to try new stuff! Don’t get stuck! Pay à la carte and it will be a good experience!

We had A great shaggy dog sushi dish! Our server was excellent! My husband had shrimp fried rice -“awesome shrimp” and Tempura shrimp with vegetables was super good!!!!

The food was great enjoyed it. But the choice of music heavy metal was less to be desired. People paying for a nice meal, visiting and they want to be able to enjoy it.

I have NEVER been a fan of any Shogun's until 1/10/26.. When we took my son back to SHSU we decided to have lunch. Omg. Sam (the chef) has made me a believer. I ordered a hibachi steak dinner. That was the most seasoned and tender steak I've ever had at any hibachi restaurant. My server (Cece) was very sweet and attentive. She was helpful when ordering and always made sure we didn't need anything. I'm still not a fan of their soup and salad but I'll definitely be back.

ordered the all-you-can-eat option, and they charged me a $12 waste fee for the shrimp tempura. However, I wasn’t informed that it came with fried sweet potato and onion. I ate all the shrimp, yet they still charged me. Next to me, there was a table ordering à la carte, and I saw their rolls were a normal size. But when I ordered mine as part of the all-you-can-eat, it came out huge, with barely any fish and no flavor. I couldn’t eat it, and they charged me another $12 for that roll. I felt scammed. I’m never going back.
