Shogun Asian Fusion Hibachi and Sushi

My wife wanted hibachi for her birthday so we settled on Shogun. The food was mostly good. I forget the name of the sushi that we got, but I didn’t care for it. The hibachi was fantastic, though. Our chef was engaging and did the standard stuff. The problem with this, and other places like it, is that you don’t know who else might be seated around the grill. As luck’s could have it, I sat by a couple truly obnoxious people. Oh well! Still a good time and my wife had a good birthday, which was the point!

For the price, we expected more. The food was average, the chef was not super engaging with the group, and the staff were okay in friendliness. Each meal was around $35 so I hoped for a more enjoyable time here.

Although the restaurant was crowded, we were promptly greeted and seated by the very friendly staff. I ordered the chicken hibachi and a shrimp tempura roll, while my husband got the steak hibachi (pictured). The hibachi dishes came with shrimp (not pictured), which didn’t seem to be listed on the menu. Since my husband is allergic, I ended up with his portion, and the staff handled the situation quickly and professionally. They were attentive, checked on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant—not too noisy—and the space was nice to look at. The prices were definitely worth it for the quality and quantity of food we received. We’ll definitely be returning!

Server Kaleb was great! Very accommodating and friendly. The 5 star is because of his service. Make sure you ask for him to be your server. I had the Thai Casserole in a bowl. Was a great choice. Would return just to order this dish again.

It was a very nice restaurant, mostly specializing in Japanese sushi and hibachi. They have other things on the menu and we thought about getting Thai food because we love Thai food but decided not to. Both my daughter and I had hibachi chicken and it was quite a big serving and I thought it was a little odd that it but it came with both noodles and rice but it was decent. I have the ginger salad. It was a bit disappointing because it's just lettuce with creamy ginger salad dressing. Our local place serves the same salad but with a little extra stuff other than lettuce. I do like the salad dressing. I think overall the meal was good but I don't think it was great. The restaurant is very nice and the service was great.
