Shivers Creek Catfish House (Simpson County Location)

We went on an adventure on our way moving to Alabama! It was worth the drive! The food was outstanding, fresh, made to order. We ordered blackened catfish, blackened chicken & baked potato & Fried catfish (so light and flakey) with house cut french fries. For the table they serve an order of hush puppies, greens, & coleslaw. Our server Daylin (sorry if I misspelled your name!) was wonderful! 10/10 would recommend!!

Delicious!! Every single item was amazing. Charming little fish house. They start you out with hush puppies, cole slaw, and turnip greens (think chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant). Then do yourself a favor and order the fried catfish and a sweet potato or their hand cut fries. Your tastebuds will be thanking ya! And the service was great - super friendly! It was a fun experience and I hope to be back soon!

My family and I decided to try Shivers out on this fine Sunday and were not disappointed! Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite thing was the jalapeño poppers and of course the famous fried catfish . Our server was very nice and fast . The owner and several other workers checked on us throughout our visit . Thank you for a great experience, we will be returning .

We ate here for our first time Saturday evening , and I must say this place is truly a hidden gem. We walked in and were seated and brought hush puppies , cole slaw, and turnip greens. I do not eat turnip greens , but let me tell you I ate 2 little bowls of them and asked for more. The hush puppies were the best I have ever had in my life. The cole slaw was delicious. We ordered crab claws and fried pickles for appetizers. I was amazed at the serving size we got and how they tasted. My husband ordered a 12 oz ribeye which surely seemed bigger than that, and I ordered half fried shrimp and half fried fish filet. I do not order steak out bc I am so picky about it. We are not from Mississippi but in area for work and came across this gem by accident. We are so glad we did because the food was delicious! My husband and a colleague stopped by on a Tuesday at lunch while working and the owner came out and offered to cook them a fresh meal and boy did he deliver! So much so we went back the next night to eat!! We had never eaten greens like that but they were so good. We will definitely be back when working in this area!!
