Shipley Do-Nuts

First it was the near and dear to my heart Whataburger. Now, it's happening to my hometown Shipleys. It’s disappointing when a brand that’s been known for consistent quality starts becoming hit or miss. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete miss; customer service included. I went in around 9:30 a.m. on a Wednesday, and it wasn’t busy. I ordered 2 plain glazed, 2 chocolate-iced donuts, 4 jalapeño sausage-and-cheese kolaches, and a fat-free milk. Instead of handling the donuts with care, the cashier shoved all four into a tiny bag. They looked and tasted burnt/old, and had barely any icing/glaze. Went to pick up my suprise box from good to go and the heavy set lady with and hombre hair style who had her hair down and was not using a hairnet by the way was rude and refused to give me my bag even tho i showed her my code in my app. Horrible customer service. Will never buy Donuts from this establishment ever. I wanted to not believe it because the service I've received here was always nice, but after looking at comments of other customers receiving old/stale donuts - I feel like my family was given donuts with mold on them. I wish I took more pictures of the other donuts before messing with them. We tried to pick at the spots in case it was just icing or something from other donuts, but after taking it apart I feel like it's mold they just glazed ove 🤢

It was a beautiful “donut” kind of morning, so I searched for a Shipley’s Donut shop nearby. I was thrilled when there was one less than 1 mile away, so I made my way there. I had never been to this particular Shipley’s before, but I loved that they had an open window to watch the gentleman making donuts and kolaches. The window is surrounded by tables and chairs so it would be easy to dine in if you have the time. You can sit and enjoy watching the donuts being made, or the traffic going by. I’m sure that these days everyone will be staring at their phones, but give yourself a break, go in, sit down, enjoy watching the pastries being made, and just breathe for a few minutes. This morning around 9:30 I stopped by for some donuts. They were warm. The ladies were as friendly as possible. I will definitely return to this place.
