Shewa Ethiopian Restaurant

Don’t miss coming here if you are in DC! This is the best Ethiopian food we have ever had and the service was incredible. We will definitely be back! Becca was an amazing hostess/server. Don’t miss trying the homemade tiramisu for dessert.

This was my first time trying Ethiopian and certainly won’t be my last! The food was soo delicious and fresh! We were given an order of veggie sambusas on the house and they were incredibly flavorful, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I ordered the mini veggie combo and it was so big that I thought they have be the regular size! Definitely not mad I’ll have leftovers. Arrived around 7 pm on a Friday night and we were the only ones dining in. It seems people usually get theirs to-go. Service is prompt and friendly. I’ll be back to try other menu items for sure! Parking wasn’t too bad either, you can park in the lot next to the food mart or on the street in front of the restaurant if it’s not sitting morning rush hour.

The inside is very clean and cozy. Fish and lamb is my favorite. Price is very reasonable. Make sure to try their Tela wine too! The owner is very kind and friendly. Really lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

A friend recommended this Ethiopian spot and the food was incredible. The owner came out to greet us and gave a great recommendation for which dishes to order. The sambusa and the short ribs were delicious. 100% would come back to try more of the menu!

Wow, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. We came in at an off-peak time and were warmly greeted by the owner. Beautiful music started playing as we enjoyed a bottle of honey wine. The friendly server recommended to me a beef tibs dish and it was amazing. We also tried the sambusas which were delicious, fresh and crispy. The service was incredible. The atmosphere is super cute in here with beautiful art on the walls. Will definitely be coming back to Shewa, 10/10.
