Shelby County Public Library

A community (and national) treasure! This historic Carnegie library is a bright, beautiful space with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. It offers lots of activities for all ages, plus ebook, audiobook, and video streaming access through Libby, Hoopla, and Kanopy. This library and its staff are great assets to our town and county, and I'm grateful for them!

Wish they would leave the leaves alone during the fall. I just saw them mowing the leaves.....The library looks so magical during the fall with the leaves on the ground 🍁🍂🍁🍂

I visit the library a few times a month and I always enjoy the experience. Our librarians are the kindest most welcoming people in the world. I’m tremendously grateful for the safe and supportive environment where I can go to escape the stress and anxiety of my daily grind. This has become a sanctuary of peace I cherish with all my heart.

Gorgeous historic library with multiple levels of books and computers. One of the most beautiful libraries in KY!

The library is gorgeous after it's recent renovation. Selection is decent for the size of the library; adult fiction could use a spruce up, but there is the option of inter-library loans. Docked one star because several of the employees are very snobby - occasionally downright rude. When certain people are working I hate coming in, because I feel unwelcome - which is the opposite of how anyone should feel at a public library. I do enjoy the activities and reading challenges that they have. Hopefully they can have some employee training on diversity, inclusion, and empathy soon and ongoing.
