Shang Noodle Chicago Streeterville

I wanted to like this place, but I have to say I was a bit let down. The twice cooked pork and vegetable delight came out very quickly, and did taste a bit like it was directly reheated (also thought the flavor was a bit lacking from the twice cooked pork). That being said, the crab noodles which are not pictured were absolutely delicious. In addition, the service was solid and the atmosphere is quite nice. Perfect for a quick meal on a Sunday evening if you’re in the area craving Chinese food. If the twice cooked pork were better, I’d be much more of a fan.

A Chic and cool vibe at Shanghai Noodles Chicago. Staff very pleasant. Clean, bright and spacious seating. The food was absolutely delicious 😋. The Wonton Soup was tasty and hot. The Steamed Soup Dumplings were amazing. I had the Singapore Vermicelli w/out the curry. Wow, the portion was huge, with jumbo shrimps and it was some of the best noodles I have ever had.

This place is a block away from where my daughter lives so we made a reservation and walked over for dinner. When we arrived for our 8:15pm reservation, there wasn’t a single seat available and there were others waiting for seating. I highly recommend you make a reservation if dining on a Saturday for dinner. They sat us down about 5 minutes after our reservation time, no problem with that at all. The staff are super friendly and all have pleasant personalities. It was just my wife and I and everything we had was delicious. I don’t have any complaints about the staff or the food. The only thing I didn’t like about this place was the noise level. I like to dine in quiet places and this isn’t quiet, that is just my personal preference. Enjoyable spot with quick service and plenty of dishes to choose from. I started with the hot and sour soup and loved it! I added an order of soup dumplings but they were ok and, unfortunately, didn’t have much broth in them. I ended with the garlic chicken (comes with jasmine rice) and I enjoyed this dish. Overall the food was decent with great customer service!
