Shakespeare Chateau Inn Bed & Breakfast

The Shakespeare Chateau is an amazing bed and breakfast. It is a restored mansion with 47 beautiful stained glass windows. Our room, The Romeo and Juliette Suite, was amazing, with a jacuzzi. The owner, Isobel, has lovingly restored this mansion and the rich wood details are beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful dining room where you can just image people dining 140 years ago in splendor. Isobel is a wealth of knowledge about the area. You won't regret this choice!

Our stay at the Shakespeare was excellent. The hot breakfast was a delightful egg dish w muffin and fruit. Requested gluten free before arrival and was told that was no problem. Beds in the midsummer night suite were comfortable. Isobel is a present innkeeper who is warm and available as needed but also leaves you alone (a good thing!). She was very responsive to my questions prior to booking. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing stately home located in the heart of St. Joseph. Restaurants are available within a 5 minute drive. The room was comfortable and had old world charm. Isobel was very welcoming and provided an outstanding breakfast. This was exactly the experience we look for when booking a bed and breakfast.

Amazing historic building with charm at every corner. You feel like you are staying in a European castle. Every piece of furniture and decor was an antique but fully renovated and extremely well cared for. The windows are art pieces in themselves. We were here with all the Christmas decor up and it was something out of a Hallmark movie. Highly recommend is you are staying in St. Joseph or in KC but want to get out of the city noise.

This is our second stay. Isobel is a wonderful host and is able to accommodate a gluten-free diet upon request. Rooms are cozy. Especially enjoyed all the beautiful Christmas decorations. Area is easy to get to and we felt very safe.
