Seminole County Public Library - East Branch

I came here to get some studying done and it was nice and peaceful! The skylight in the middle makes everything feel bright and airy. Plus I saw most people social distancing and wearing masks — a big plus during these uncertain times.

Tu/Th story times with Miss Emily and Cosmo are awesome! My toddler enjoys coloring, playing, and doing puzzles afterwards. The self checkout kiosk and book locker stations are great for littles wanting a taste of independence. Bathroom is newly renovated and clean. The stepping stones, rock garden, and benches in the outdoor area are inviting and a fun place for kiddos to interact post story time. There has been a rooster there as of late who seems keen on handouts of kiddo’s snacks and will follow me to my car at times. Roosters can be very dangerous and can inflict a lot of pain on adults and children with sharp spurs. Very dangerous and should be relocated promptly.

The Oviedo Chickens live there now!!! What's not to love? Wonderful, cheerful staff and adorable, sassy Rooster and his ladies.

If you’re looking for a quiet place to study, this is definitely not your best choice—unless you bring both earplugs and noise-canceling headphones. I won’t be coming back. There were children running around, adults loudly teaching their kids, and even toddlers coming right up to me while I was trying to focus. Cute, yes, but this is supposed to be a library—not a playground. Honestly, it felt like a gathering spot for people with zero sense of public manners. I’m genuinely confused how this place has a 4.7 rating. To anyone who’s hoping to find a quiet environment to study: Do not come here. It’s chaos.

Such a great library! Tons of programming for kids and adults. Great selection of varied material and wonderful staff and volunteers. They have space to work and spread out and cute children's section.
