Scudiero's Italian Bakery & Deli

Scudieros is a great deli to stop in when you are in Melrose park area. Little Italian deli serving sheet pan pizzas. Inside looks fairly new, but they have been around since the 80's. We ordered a caprese sandwich and added prosciutto and balsamic glaze with roasted red peppers on the side. Sandwich was delicious! I also got a slice of cheese pizza and wifey tried the tomato pie. Slices came out delicious and hot! Dough was light and fluffy but had a great crisp on the bottom. Sauce was light and had a very good flavor. Lady at the front that took our order (was nice but was a little edgy with us for some reason) but was very nice to the regulars. That's the only thing that felt off. But other than that great food. 100% recommend!

We’ve been coming to Scudiero’s every week for the past year and it is nothing but consistent and delicious! Amber and her staff are kind, efficient, and professional while maintaining a personal relationship with customers. This is a hidden gem that is a must try if you’re in the area. We have never had a negative or bad experience here! Recommendations are the Arancini ball, Italian sub, pizza, and the focaccia sandwich if available. We love Scudiero’s!!!

Friday morning I arrived at Scudiero's around 10:05 AM. I walked inside and there was already a line. After a few minutes they started bringing out the trays with the large slices of Sfincione Pizza. I ordered 2 slices of sausage. This pizza was amazing in every aspect. The dough is thick, but it's not heavy at all, it's lite and airy. The sauce is zesty and gives off the taste of tomatoes fresh from the garden. Big pieces of juicy Italian sausage with just the right amount of fennel. A high quality mozzarella cheese that tastes great. As I sat there enjoying these delicious gems I couldn't believe how crazy busy this place was at 10:15 AM. I was there about 30 minutes and it was mind blowing to see how many slices of pizza they sold.

Scudiero’s Italian Bakery & Deli is the definition of a neighborhood gem. Walking in, you are greeted by a great display of pizza by the slice, baked goods, and classic Italian specialties. Everything looks fresh, generous, and made with care. The pizza is excellent, with a thick, airy crust and a perfect balance of sauce and cheese. They also make great sandwiches that are filling and made with quality ingredients. One insider tip: ask for the meat arancini with a side of marinara sauce. They are not always available, but if they have them, do not pass them up. You will not be disappointed. Clean, welcoming, authentic, and reasonably priced. No gimmicks, just delicious Italian food done right. Scudiero’s is absolutely worth the stop.

Stopped by Scudiero’s Italian Bakery & Deli for lunch one day and grabbed the eggplant Parmesan sandwich—oh my goodness, this sandwich was incredible. So flavorful and satisfying! I got the regular eggplant sandwich with a side of hot peppers, which are made fresh and added the perfect kick. Next time, I’m definitely going to try some of the other options they have—pizzas, paninis, pastas. The menu is huge, and there’s a ton of stuff I want to try. The service was great, though it was super busy during lunch, so the food did take a little time to come out, but no big deal. Inside, they have a few tables, and they also do a lot of takeout. Everything’s made fresh—salads, pastas, pizzas—you name it. Highly recommend this spot, I’ll for sure be back.
