Scooter's Coffee

I was so excited to see a Scooter’s Coffee in the North Austin area, the last time I enjoyed Scooter’s was in the Dallas area. I stopped in today and it gave me everything I’d been missing. I got a blended Caramelicious and it was the perfect blend of sweet, caffeinated heaven in a cup. The customer service was great and the line moved quickly. They had an up beat and friendly vibe that I’m looking forward to coming back for ☕️.

I love Scooter’s! I used to visit the San Antonio location when seeing family, so I’m thrilled one opened near home. Drinks can be hit or miss while staff is still training, but the nutty coffee flavor keeps me coming back. The team here has been consistently friendly and welcoming. One caution: rewards automatically apply to the cheapest item in your order. I learned this when my 400 Smiles reward was applied to a medium drink instead of the XL that I also purchased. The cashier couldn’t fix it, and customer service confirmed the only workaround is to order reward items separately. The app doesn’t explain this, so hopefully they update it to avoid confusion for regulars.

The service at Scooter’s Coffee in Round Rock was great and the drive-thru was fast and efficient, but the drinks really missed the mark. My espresso drink was extremely sugary, even with an extra shot of espresso, and the iced matcha tasted mostly like milk, even though I asked for extra matcha. There are far better coffee options in the Austin metro area, so unfortunately this won’t be a go-to spot for me.

I first tried Scooters in Leander a couple years ago, and I’m so happy that they’ve opened a location on the east side of WillCo closer to my house. I always order my drink half sweet with an extra shot, and it’s the perfect balance of espresso taste and sweetness for my personal preference. Susanne seems like a very passionate and invested store manager who is great with people, and I also had the pleasure of interacting with Taylor and Angel who both seemed to genuinely enjoy being there (not something you see very often these days.) I’m sure there will be a learning curve for some of the staff members who don’t have previous barista experience, but it’s obvious the culture at Scooters is making delicious drinks and food and having a good time whether you’re an employee or a customer. I

I received multiple coupons in the mail for a new coffee spot in my area, so I loaded up my family in the car and we gave them a try. My girls enjoyed the cookies and cream drinks one with and one without espresso. My son said the strawberry and Red Bull concocsion was pretty good, and I really liked my iced matcha latte with oat milk and added vanilla syrup. The young lady who took our order was very patient while we made up our minds on what to order plus she was all smiles at the window. I like that they included several coupons with their mailer. There's also a buy 5 get on free hole punch thingy. We will definitely be back!
