Sawa Shawarma & Grill

I ordered food off from Uber Eats. The BOGO deal is great got one beef and one chicken to see what is best for me. I aldo got spicy potatoes which was good. The portion is generous and loaded. I personally found the sandwiches okay. I was hoping for more flavour. But alhamdulilah for everything!

I tried this place twice before leaving a review. I was less than impressed the first time but thought I’d give them another try. I went in on a Wednesday around 4pm. Ordered a kafta kabob plate and a chicken tawook plate. The portions were decently sized and there was enough that we took some of our plate home. The meat was nothing special but it was good. The garlic sauce was good and there were no complaints. The salad was meh. The salad dressing was mostly oily and there was barely any seasoning to it. It wasn’t my favourite fattoush dressing. My biggest problem came with the preparation of the food. Even though the rice and potatoes were already cooked they were sitting in containers at room temperature. Really good food with generous portions! Owner does not hold back from toppings and is super kind!! Super accommodating and didn’t charge us for extra baklava. It is clear he loves his business. Love supporting good businesses with good people and good food!!

I ordered a poutine with extra chicken shawarma, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The chicken tasted old, the staff grab meat from under the counter and reheat it on the grill instead of cutting it fresh from the shawarma machine. The flavor and texture reflected that, so much so that I ended up throwing the food away. Based on this experience, I won’t be returning.

My go to shawarma place now! Ive been a few times and this place never has let me down. Shawarmas are stuffed just the right amount and toasted great, shawarma is never soggy. The lentil soup is AMAZING and comes with some pita chips for topping. All around amazing place and owner is so kind.
